Older Toddlers

We would like to welcome you and your toddler to the TERRIFIC TWOS! Our classroom provides love, learning, gentle guidance, many milestones, and more! Our curriculum offers fun, creative, teacher-directed, child initiated, quality lessons which are instructed at a level interesting and fulfilling to the childrenís needs. We strive in smooth transitions and excellent parent-teacher communication. Your child and their future is our main goal!

Parent files are located in the room, near the door, labeled with your childís name. In here you will find art projects, coloring sheets, updates, lesson plans, etc. Please empty this daily. We will hand-deliver you a daily sheet. The daily sheet includes diaper changes or toileting, activities, length of nap, eating, and if we went outside. It will also list anything your child needs.

Our parent board has our current schedule and any special days coming up and is located outside our door in the hallway. We also keep a current lesson plan on the board at all times.

We do diaper changes from 8:30-9a, 10:30-11a, 2:30-3p, and 4:30-5p. Upon a BM, the diaper will be changed immediately.

When a child is about 2 is years old, we like to start the potty training process. We support the toileting routine that parents use at home to the best of our ability. The manner in which toilet learning is conducted can have an impact on a childís development. It should be a positive experience with lots of encouragement for doing well. Toilet training requires consistency and patience, and can only be effective when the child is ready. Our teachers are aware and look for indicators that a child is ready to learn to use the toilet.
