Young Toddlers

Transitioning your child into the young toddler room is a big step and we know it can be emotional for both the parents and the child. We will make every effort to make it a smooth transition. If you ever have questions, comments, or concerns please let us know! Open communication plays a very important role, and helps us to provide the best possible care for your child.

Breakfast is from 8-8:30 and lunch runs from 11:30-11:55. We also have a morning snack at 10am and an afternoon snack at 3pm.

Dress your child for the weather! We go outside every day, unless it is raining or when the wind-chill is below 15 degrees. Make sure that their outside gear is always here. All children should come dressed and ready for the day. The only exception to this is pajama day.

Everyday you will get a daily sheet. On this sheet it will tell you about diaper changes, activities, nap times, and if we went outside. It will also list anything your child needs.

Every week you will get a copy of the parent letter and a lesson plan. This will tell you if we are having special days (pajama day, hat day, picnic day). It will also let you know what we will be working on. We provide a structured environment and we encourage each child to show their creativity in every activity we do! The lesson plan will be placed in the parent files by the door along with your childís artwork. Please check this daily.

Our parent board has our current schedule and any special days coming up and is located outside our door in the hallway. We also keep a current lesson plan on the board at all times. Please check this for changes in our daily schedule.

Emergency forms will be placed in your file every six months. Please fill them out and return them as soon as possible. We like to keep all of our information current. If you should have a change at any other time please let us know as soon as possible. Please refer to your Tender Time handbook for our sick and exclusion policy. Please respect the other children and parents in the room by following the rules. If your child wakes up in the morning with a fever at least 101∞F or higher, your child is excluded from Tender Time. If your child is sent home with a fever they cannot return until 24 hours after the fever breaks. If your child has a contagious illness they will need to be on antibiotics for 24 hours before they can return. If your child is sent home with a physician evaluation form, it needs to be filled out by a doctor before your child can return. We cannot administer medication from an out-dated prescription canister. All prescriptions must be current.

Hope you enjoy having your toddler with us, and if you ever have questions, problems, or concerns please let us know.
